Minutes for the Town of Swepsonville

Town Council Meeting August 16, 2016

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Raymond Herring.

All Town Council was present for the meeting, with the exception of Gail Miller.

The minutes for the meeting July 19, 2016 were reviewed. Hugh Doss made a motion to accept the minutes as written. Darrell Newton seconded the motion. The minutes for the meeting July 19, 2016 were unanimously approved.

Mayor Herring addressed the Town Council about the Tethering Ordinance Draft that was emailed to all Town Council. Paul Koonts, the Towns' Attorney, discussed the Tethering Ordinance with the Town Council and explained how it would work. Hugh Doss made a motion to accept the Tethering Ordinance as written. Doug Scott seconded the motion. The vote passed unanimously.

Mayor Herring addressed the Town Council about the Auction of the Quarry Hill Golf Course property. The Auction was held on August 12, 2016, at that time MIVA a group out of Apex, NC and owned by Mike Howington. Mike Howington came and addressed the Town Council and property owners about what his thoughts are on the development of the property. Mr. Howington stated that he would close on the property on August 23, 2016 and the next day he would have a architect on the property looking at the club house first. Mr. Howington told the Town Council and the property owners that he doesn't have plans drawn up for the development at this time. Mr. Howington answered some questions from the home owners there and then stated that when he has the plans made for the development he would meet with the home owners again. Mr. Howington will also come before the Town Council with his development plans when he is ready to proceed.

There was no public time comments.

Darrell Newton made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Doug Scott seconded the motion. The meeting was unanimously adjourned.
